I have always been a fan of numbers but in this class I have seen how useful qualitative research can be especially with children. I think young children may not be good at expressing themselves with something like a Likert scale. I do like the idea that a researcher can use a combination of qualitative and quantitative to show the results of their study. I went to LISTA to look up “triangulation” because it was used as a term to describe how researchers use quantitative data to support case studies. I was not very successful. I was hoping to find some kind of standards for how much quantitative data is enough to support a good case study. I not trying to be funny here but it may be a case by case situation deciding how much quantitative data is needed to support a case study.
