Ok, I am just going to admit it- I am quantitative person. My Myers-Briggs personality type is ENTJ and I think I do best when I see hard evidence. With a background in Chemistry, I am having a hard time with some of the research papers I am finding. I have used both LISTA and Academic Search Premier set to scholarly (peer reviewed) journals to find articles that have research about information literacy and youth. All I am finding is articles that have no active research. The articles have plenty of references, ideas and assertions based on their readings but no action research. Give me a survey or a case study, at least, and I would be happy. I think I am the most frustrated with the articles that insist on evidence based teaching yet have no evidence. I cannot figure out if it is my research skills in finding articles or if it is the nature of library science publishing. I have found fifteen articles that relate to my topic, just no active research reports.
